Policies & Consent
At Axiom Equine Performance, we hold ourselves to a high standard of care — for your horse and for your time. The following policies help us show up consistently and professionally for every client.
Arriving for Your Appointment
Please have your horse groomed, settled, and ready 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. A quiet, low-traffic area of the barn makes for a more relaxed session. Avoid the main aisle during feed time where possible.
Late Arrivals
Appointments not started within 15 minutes of the scheduled time will be considered a cancellation and charged accordingly. Where possible, we will accommodate a shortened session at our discretion. Out of respect for other clients, we cannot guarantee it.
Cancellations and No-Shows
We ask for 24 hours notice for single appointments and 48 hours for multiple services. Cancellations, no-shows, and late arrivals beyond 15 minutes are subject to the following fees:
- Cancellation fee: $50
- No-show fee: $90 plus calculated mileage
- Rescheduling within 24 hours: $20 (refunded at your next appointment)
We understand that life happens. Fees may be waived at our discretion in genuine emergencies.
Travel
Travel is calculated by zone from our home base:
- Zone 1: Within 20km — no charge
- Zone 2: Vernon / Coldstream — $30
- Zone 3: Armstrong / Enderby — $45
- Zone 4: Kelowna / Salmon Arm — $85
- Beyond Zone 4: $0.75 per km after
Travel charges may be shared among clients at the same barn and are waived after 4 horses at one location.
Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of service. We accept cash, cheque, credit card, debit, and e-transfer. Deposits paid to reserve an appointment are deducted from your final balance.
During your session, additional services may be recommended. You are always welcome to decline, though doing so may limit the full benefit of the work.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds on deposits, completed services, or cancellations received less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment.
Confidentiality
All client conversations are private and confidential. We are happy to share our professional expertise and will keep the discussion focused on the services being provided.
Liability
Working with horses carries inherent risk. By booking with Axiom Equine Performance, clients agree not to hold AEP responsible for any injury or condition that may occur to their animal during or following a session. Equally, AEP will not hold the client responsible for any injury sustained during the appointment.
Talitha Parker reserves the right to discontinue treatment if a harmful or inappropriate reaction is observed.
Medical Conditions and Veterinary Disclaimer
Please keep us informed of any changes to your horse's health, medications, or treatment plan. Veterinary sign-off may be required before treatment in some cases.
Equine bodywork is a complementary modality. Talitha Parker is a Certified Equine Sport Therapist and does not diagnose or treat illness or disease. We encourage clients to consult their veterinarian with any medical concerns.
